Carry-on Baggage

A single carry-on article which fits beneath the seat in front of you or in an overhead luggage compartment,
for which the sum of its length, width and height does not exceed 115 cm (and does not exceed length 55 cm, width 40 cm and height 20 cm)
and whose weight does not exceed 10 kg may
be carried without extra charge, provided that the
passenger is fully responsible for its safekeeping and storage.

Articles which may be used as weapons:
firearms, weapon mockups, explosives, articles with blades such as daggers, bicycle chains, nunchucks
and other articles normally not carried around
Free checked baggage
Checked baggage is baggage consigned by a passenger at the airport of origin and received at the destination airport.
For safety, please follow the airline's size and weight guidelines when preparing checked baggage.
Checked baggage items whose dimensions exceed 203 cm (width plus length plus height) may be refused.
Baggage items weighing up to 35 kg may be checked with an additional payment. If this weight limit is exceeded, baggage items over this limit must be packed separately.
For aircraft security and safety reasons, checking another persons’ baggage as one's own is prohibited.

Items which may not be checked
Explosives, compressed gases, flammable substances, corrosive substances, irritants, magnetic substances, radioactive substances and other substances which may pose a risk to the aircraft, the passenger’s property or another persons’ property may not be carried as baggage.
Matches and lighters may be transported only if they are carried on a passenger’s person. (Up to 1 per person; certain overseas airports may not allow bringing of matches and lighters on board)
Special baggage
Dimensions: Dimensions (width plus length plus height) must not exceed 277 cm; weight must not exceed 32 kg (including packaging)
Special baggage items having different sizes and shapes from ordinary baggage items have a high risk of damage or bending of contents during transport. These items may only be accepted if packed into a dedicated hard case or a box with cushioning materials inside.
When checking special baggage at the airport check-in counter, you will be required to fill in a declaration.
Please be informed that special baggage which has not been packaged properly is not eligible for compensation for damage.
Special baggage which has not been packaged properly may be refused, and you may be required to improve the packaging on-site.
Sporting goods
Additional charges apply for sporting goods, regardless of the free checked baggage allowance.

※ The oxygen tank of the scuba diving equipment only can be transported if the valve is completely disconnected from the tank and it shall be visually verified that the tank is completely empty.
※ The sporting goods fee is charged per set, and per set unit is 1 bicycle/1 surfboard/1 pair of skis, 1 pair of ski poles, 1 pair of ski boots/1 pair of snowboards, and 1 pair of boots.
Golf clubs
Golf equipment is considered as a standard checked baggage item and is included at no extra charge within your free baggage allowance.
Please comply with the following note.
Golf clubs must be in checked baggage are prohibited onboard subject to aviation safety and security laws. However, as a set or individually, all golf clubs not in a hard case (or an exclusive packing container) may be refuse to transport due to possibility of damage.
When putting the golf bag back up, the cap part (head) must be raised to the opposite side of the direction of travel of the luggage belt, which may reduce the risk of breakage of the driver.
It is recommended that natural leather bags be wrapped in cloth bags. Compensation is not possible in case of damage to the items of checked baggage.
In case of damage to the driver, compensation is not possible. Make sure that the driver in a hard case or an exclusive packing container.
Instruments
Instruments (guitars, violins and wind instruments) may only be accepted as checked baggage if they are in a hard case and packed with sufficient internal cushioning material.
Baggage which exceeds the carry-on dimensions (width 55 cm x length 20 cm, sum of dimensions not exceeding 115 cm) may not be brought into the cabin. Carriage may be refused for checked articles if not properly packaged. E.g.) Instruments (guitars, violins, etc.) in soft cases
Please be informed that special baggage which has not been packaged properly is not eligible for compensation for damage.

Passengers wishing to carry large instruments on board are requested to make bookings and purchase additional tickets beforehand.

Allowed/Not allowed Item on Aircraft Information
In accordance with Article 44 of the Aviation Safety and Security Act, persons bringing prohibited items onto an aircraft will be subject to a prison sentence of 2 to 5 years.
This same standard applies throughout for all airports in the Republic of Korea. If your destination is overseas, please check with your carrier or travel agency for any articles additionally prohibited by your destination country.

Bringing liquids into the cabin on international flights
Bringing liquids, sprays and gels into the cabin is strictly prohibited on international flights. Passengers traveling on international flights are asked to confirm that their carry-on items meet the respective allowances before boarding.

Water, beverages, food products, cosmetics and other articles in liquid, spray or gel (or cream) form must be contained in individual containers not exceeding 100㎖, and carried in a 1ℓ transparent vinyl zipper bag. Each passenger is limited to one vinyl bag.
Baby food and medical supplies, etc. may be brought into the cabin, but only in the amounts necessary for the duration of the flight. For medical supplies, prescriptions and other documentation must be presented to security staff.
Duty free items purchased
Duty free items purchased at the airport and liquids such as alcoholic spirits or cosmetics purchased at a downtown duty free store and received at the airport may be brought into the aircraft provided that all of the following conditions are met.
Must be packaged in a transparent sealed bag provided by the duty free store, or an STEB (Security Tamper Evident Bag) manufactured in accordance with international standards
Provided the receipt issued at the time of purchase is included in the STEB or attached thereto, the amount which may be brought into the cabin is not restricted
Liquid duty free items sold on board which may be subject to security screening during the trip (including transfers and transit) must be packed in STEBs
Must remain sealed and closed until the passenger boards the flight to the final destination
During transfers and transits through overseas airports, different security regulations may require you to comply with confiscation/surrender procedures for liquids purchased. Transfer/transit passengers who purchase duty free items on board are asked to inform cabin crew beforehand.

Liability for lost baggage compensation
If your baggage has been damaged or there are missing contents, you must file a written report with the airline within 7 days of receiving your baggage. For delayed or lost baggage, you must file a written report with the airline within 21 days of checking your baggage with the airline.
Fly Gangwon will be held liable for compensation only in cases where baggage is damaged either intentionally by Fly Gangwon staff or due to negligence on our part in the process of transporting or storing baggage.
Non Rewardable Items
Please be informed that compensation will not be paid in the following cases.
Where it is proven that the company has taken all measures necessary to prevent damage, or was unable to take such measures due to force majeure
Damages suffered or accidents caused by negligence on the part of the customer
Damage to baggage which is excessively heavy or which is overloaded considering bag size (including damage and loss to contents accompanying damage to baggage)
Damage to locking mechanisms in the process of security screening, and damage to film due to x-ray scans
Minor scratches, abrasions, depressions, dents and stains, etc. which occur during normal handling of baggage
Damage to liquids (cosmetics, alcoholic spirits, honey, etc.) and contamination/damage to contents as a result
The following articles which cannot be checked, and must be carried as carry-on
- Articles which are easily damaged or which are prone to spoilage, instruments, etc.
- Health-related medical products
- Laptop computers, mobile phones, camera, camcorders, MP3 players and other personal electronic products of high value or the data contained therein
- Cash, gems, precious metals, marketable securities, documents such as contracts and scientific papers, passports, personal ID, keys, prototypes (samples), antiques and precious objects whose value is difficult to assess
Lost and Found
Fly Gangwon keeps lost items found in the cabin in storage. For items lost in airports and not in the cabin, please consult the website of the airport in question or the National Police Agency’s combined lost and found portal.
Items retrieved will only be returned to you following verification of identity at an airport branch of Fly Gangwon. (ID must be presented)
In most cases, articles are found while cleaning the cabin upon arrival at an airport. Please contact the airport of arrival first.
In principle, important articles such as passports and personal IDs which contain personal information, as well as cash, are handed over to the airport police.
Generally, articles not retrieved within 1 month are donated to charity or destroyed in-house.
(Articles which are believed to have spoiled or been altered are disposed of the next day.)
